10 days Imperial Cities and Sahara Desert

Day 1: Rabat Arrival

Pick up at the airport. Transfer to your hotel / riad. Presentation of your trip

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes  – Fes:

After breakfast. You’ll star exploring the capital of the Kingdom “Rabat” to explore the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum and Oudayas strength. After lunch, it’s onto to Fes via Meknes. In Meknes, another significant imperial city in Morocco – known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco, you will see the famous gate Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Bassin and the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. we’ll arrive in Fes. Overnight acocomodation in Hotel/Riad

Day 3: Exploring Fes:

After breakfast, you’ll start exploring the cultural capital of Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by the Royal Palace, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest and the Tanneries. Free time afternoon. Overnight acocomodation in Hotel/Riad

Day 4:  Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Errachidia – Merzouga:

After breakfast, you’ll leave Fes travelling towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then to Merzouga via Azrou and the Ziz Valley.  During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains.  Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may well see Barbary apes. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. Your journey continues to Merzouga via the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way.   Arriving in Merzouga  At the foot of the golden dunes of the Sahara desert, where the hotel is located to spend the night. Day 5: Merzouga area and the Camel trek:

After breakfast in the hotel you’ll start exploring the area. A day reserved for enjoying, revelling and experiencing the desert in its purest form; we will start our day in Hasselabied where we will enter in a palm grove created and looked after by the entire community. We will continue our trip among the dunes and desert tracks passing by Merzouga and we will travel through time when visiting the small village of Khamlia, which is inhabited by nomads from sub-Saharan Africa. In the afternoon we will set off with a caravan of camels and we will go deep into the desert and lose ourselves in its immensity to spend one night as authentic Berbers, with whom we will enjoy their drum music, a typical dinner and the company of the stars. A night at the Khaima.

Day 6:  Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges:

Rising early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga.  En-route you won’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After, you’ll leave for Rissani where we will stop to visit its colourful Souk, continue to Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Day 7:  Dades Gorge – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech:

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll set off through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. Today you will have the opportunity to meet Berber Nomads in their caves enjoying the fertile Rose valley and the rock formations along the way. We’ll stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over.  Continuing on to Skoura and the birds valley; visiting the Kasbah Ameridil, a well-preserved kasbah in this area. After some hiking in the valley, we’ll stop for lunch in a restaurant, overlooking the gorge. Then it’s on to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, whose geography and beautiful landscapes has attracted many world class movie producers.  Here you may choose to visit the studios, containing props used in movies, you may have already seen; such as The Mummy, Gladiator and the Last temptation of Christ. Our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, before arriving at Marrakech. Overnight accommodation in Hotel/Riad

Day 8: Exploring Marrakech:

After breakfast, you can start exploring Marrakech” the red city of Morocco”.  Your guide will ensure that you see the most important places of historical and cultural interest: including the Koutoubia tower , Saadien tomb, the Palaces of El Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranique School. Free time at afternoom. Overnight accommodation in Hotel/Riad

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat

Breakfast. You’ll star exploring the White city of Casablanca, Panoramic and free time outside of the Hassan II Mosque. We continue to Rabat. Accomodation and overnight in Hotel / Riad

Day 10.: Rabat Airport

After Breakfast. Free time until transfer to the Marrakech’s Airport (It’s possible transfer to Casablanca’s Airport)
